Fundraising Event for the Hostel

 

Friday, Aug. 27th, 7:30 PM.

 

At the Community Church of the Monterey Peninsula,

4590 Carmel Valley Road, Carmel.

“World Music, the other 99%”

A benefit for Hostelling International-Monterey Hostel,

 

Opening act--the original contemporary sounds of talented performers Dave and Nancy Phillips and featuring musician extraordinaire Sean Folsom on bagpipes, harmonica, hurdy gurdy, flute, reed-pipe, and many other instruments.

 

Sean Folsom is a music historian and storyteller too, and he informs as he entertains!

You may hear a French bourree or gavotte, Italian galliard, or a Spanish fandano, as well as, vintage Celtic music and a rich variety of lively bagpipe tunes. He has over 50 instruments and will play a sampling of favorites.

Dig out your old island shirt or tuck a flower behind your ear, strum a ukulele, show us your loveliest or most kitsch souvenir.  

Whether you’ve traveled the world or only dreamed of Bali Hai, join us for a fun evening with locals and travelers.
